about

Music For Schizo-Affective Schizophrenia is a 78-minute collection of 14 experimental piano improvisations by Hal McGee, recorded Summer 2001. Originally released on CDR on the HalTapes label. Currently available only online.

Free form automatistic improvisational transcriptions of my brain activity. Hear the synapses snap, crackle and pop. Expressionistic, melancholic, lyrical modal passages. Thundering percussive atonal bursts spangles. The moods change drastically within the space of seconds. Up down through and around. Oblique, obtuse and arbitrary for the hell of it. Labyrinthine travels along my brain circuit pathways.
78 minutes. 14 tracks. Tracks were culled from the very best of several hours of free form off the cuff made up on the spot out of nothing improvisations.
