about

All sounds from a Casio SK-1. Vocals were sampled and played back through the SK-1 as well.

Minimal additional effects were used.
A bit of reverb on almost everything. Delay on the whispered vocals. Chorus on the "brass ensemble."

To free myself from the limitations of the stock rhythms, I sampled and resequenced all of the rhythm sounds (i.e. "kick," "snare," etc.).

The goal was to only use the SK-1, and to refrain from modifying the original character of the keyboard with excessive effects.

also --

Everything came out of a non-circuitbent Casio SK-1. A little bit of reverb, panning, and EQ. A bit of chorus on the "brass ensemble" sound. Vocals were sampled through the built-in mic on the keyboard. Rhythms were chopped up from the original sounds, and I resequenced them. That's cheating a bit, but the sounds are 100% Casio crap.
