about

The title of this album of dictaphone assemblage audio folk art by Rafael González and Hal McGee is "request a free download code". To request a free download code contact Rafael González on Facebook, and Hal McGee on Facebook and Instagram, and via the Bandcamp Contact Form. We offer this album of sounds to you with love, joy, and affection. We believe that the listener completes the music by listening attentively, but we also invite you to spend these 97 minutes just hanging out with us, and feel free to do other things as you listen if you want to...

Rafael and Hal recorded the sounds on "request a free download code" from January 1st through 31st, 2024 with Sony ICD PX-470 stereo digital dictaphones in The Canary Islands (Spain) and Gainesville, Florida (USA). We loaded our 398 recordings onto four PX-470s, and on February 3rd we mixed the sounds together using a random chance process by playing them back in random/shuffle mode, and we recorded the mix directly into Audacity with no post production.
