*Dos Pollas* is a split album of microcassette audio folk art consisting of 30 minutes of recordings by Rafael González and 30 minutes by Hal McGee. We are happy to present this album to you with joy and we hope that it will bring you fun and happiness.
Rafael wrote this about his collage titled "Dos Pollas en la playa":
I have used field recordings of my plane trip and my stay in Gijón (Asturias, Spain) July and August 2021, Casio PT-80, TV sounds, flute, Saucillator Android app, ModSynth Android app, and shortwave radio.
On his "microcassette assemblage por Dos Pollas" Hal mixed together recordings from three microcassettes he recorded during July and August 2021. You will hear spoken words and dream diaries by Hal, sounds from Hal's daily life including his interactions with his dog Stanley, neighbors, co-workers, family members, and grocery store employees. You will also hear sounds from Hal's shortwave radio, and him playing KQ Unotone iPhone synth, Casio CT-S200RD, and two string pink dumpster guitar.
Thom Nguyên's textural drones don't sit static and heavy—instead, they unfurl and come alive over the course of this energizing new LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 27, 2023

Rather than describe what this sounds like (a futile task), I will describe how it makes me feel. First it is much like white noise, blocking the world around me. It's just me and whatever I happen to be giving my attention to with no distractions or external worries. Then it is energizing and uplifting. I have more focus and energy. These soundscapes get me in the zone to help me concentrate on whatever I'm doing, whether it be washing dishes or scrolling Facebook. And it sounds damn cool too. dharmalogos
